GTW Studio Javascript error

I am developing an GWT application with GWT Studio. I reach a point where when running in the debugger in Google Web Tooklit I get a popup saying
"A runtime error has occurred Do you wish to debug"
Line 4 Object does not support this property or method
The precise dialog which pops up is an determined by IE's javascript debugging settings - even though Firefox is my default browser. The buttons on the dialog are inactive and completely freeze The GWT development shell.
I have no idea what is causing the problem or how to make it go away.
I would also like a way to configure the system so that a real javascript debugger would work,
Any suggestions

Hello lordjoe,

I think your problem isn't related to GWT Studio plugin but to Google Web
Toolkit itself. Please address your question to GWT team (http://groups.google.com/group/Google-Web-Toolkit).
