Eclipse Workspace Importer-GUI elements interpretation

Hi,
I am trying to import a workspace created in Websphere Studio Application Developer 5.1.2, built over eclipse 2.1.3 (uses jdk1.3), and has Websphere Application Server 5.1 as test environment server (uses jdk1.4) .

Please explain the purpose/effect of the following fields in the plugin, and the apprpriate values to be given to them.
1) WAS_50_PLUGINDIR
2) SERVERJDK_50_DIR
3)generic excluded path
4)search for libraries in eclpse's installation directory
5)search for libraries in additional eclipse plugins directories

The eclipse project has not included WAS_50_PLUGINDIR and SERVERJDK_50_DIR variables in its run classpath.

In WSAD, WAS_50_PLUGINDIR points to \runtimes\base_v5_stub and SERVERJDK_50_DIR points to ]]>\eclipse

Thanks and Regards,
Ammar Husain

Hi Ammar,

AH> Please explain the purpose/effect of the following fields in the

AH>
AH> 1) WAS_50_PLUGINDIR
AH>
AH> 2) SERVERJDK_50_DIR

The above look like path variables used by your eclipse projects. You will
have to specify the full paths on the filesystem (c:\eclipseInstallDir\runtimes\base_v5_stub
for instance).

AH> 3)generic excluded path

Useful if you have directories that you'd want to mark excluded in all the
imported idea modules (). Say each project has an "output" directory that
you don't want to see in any of the imported modules.

AH> 4)search for libraries in eclpse's installation directory

Eclipse makes available to the projects (without explicit library definitions)
its internal libraries. Depending on the work you do, your eclipse projects
might use such libraries. This option simply allows the plugin to look into
eclipse's libs when it converts the eclipse projects into idea modules.

AH> 5)search for libraries in additional eclipse plugins directories

Same as above, but with extended eclipse library directories.

AH>

AH> SERVERJDK_50_DIR variables in its run classpath.

As mentioned, you'll have to specify full paths for those path variables
in the plugin's path variables dialog. The plugin does not know how to resolve
those from the eclipse settings.

Andrei
