5 is now available.

Here are the changes from .3 - .5

- Text should scroll on top of image. (Prior versions the image scrolled with the text)
- You should not have to restart idea when you make changes to the plugin properties
- You now have the option to stretch/shrink the image to fit in your editor (this is dynamic)
- There is a new visibility factor that adds transparency to images.
- Added a preview when selecting the image so you can see what the image looks like before you select it.

I have some other ideas like

- Center image
- Tile image

If you have any other ideas please reply to this thread. I would also be interested in knowing if anyone is using this plugin.

Hello charles,

Is it available for 4.5.1? I don't see it in the Plugin Manager.

Hello Tobin,
Give it a try now. I think I was just missing a param from my plugin.xml file.

Please let me know if it works or not.

thanks,
charles

Charles,

First, neat little toy; Not a productivity enhancer, but aesthetically
pleasing.

With the image stretched, it is unusably slow. Seems to be constantly
recalculating something rather large.

Clicking on the apply button on the configuration panel doesn't
immediately refresh the entire image. Moving the config panel around
forces the update.

Also, an option to maintain the aspect ratio when stretching would be nice.

One more idea: It might be useful to tie a different background image
to each file type.

Hello Tim,
I'll put these on my todo list. Thanks for the feedback and for checking it out.

If stretch your image you need to be careful about it being to large. It will cache some of the most used image sizes so it should speed up rather quickly to be usable.
