I watched the flash movie of how to add the jboss server to idea's configuration. In the movie, when you select the jboss home dir and click ok, the libraries list is filled automatically.

When I do it, that list is filled. And even when I manually add all the libs in jboss/server/all/lib, there's still a warning saying that the Servlet class isn't found in the app server libs.

Should this list be auto-populated? And if not, what are the 3 libs added to the list in the flash movie? Thanks. Sorry for my ignorance, but I'm just starting to learn how JBoss and app servers work.

I've seen the same behavior. The library list is no longer autopopulated. You need to include jboss-j2ee.jar from the lib directory of the server you are using (default in my case), and you also need to include the servlet-api.jar and jsp-api.jar from the deploy/jbossweb-tomcat50.sar directory.

Sorry for delayed anser, I was in holidays last week.

Could you both please tell me your JBoss version and your exact JBoss installation path? Maybe there's again a problem with some special folder names. Any IDEA log files would help also.

The intended behaviour is that all libraries required by IDEA are added. For JBoss 3.2.5 this are exactly the three libraris jozias has listed. For other JBoss versions there are different libraries, but the plugin is intended to be smart enough to find the correct ones.

OK, I've found the error, so forget about my request for additional information. A corrected version will be available soon.

In the meantime you can add the required libraries manually.

JBoss 3.2.5:
$JBOSS_HOME/server/default/lib/jboss-j2ee.jar
$JBOSS_HOME/server/default/deploy/jbossweb-tomcat50.sar/jsp-api.jar
$JBOSS_HOME/server/default/deploy/jbossweb-tomcat50.sar/servlet-api.jar

JBoss 4.0.0:
$JBOSS_HOME/server/default/lib/jboss-j2ee.jar
$JBOSS_HOME/server/default/lib/javax.servlet.jar
$JBOSS_HOME/server/default/lib/javax.servlet.jsp.jar
