New plugin Idea (Scratch pad)

How many times do people copy and paste snippets of code or xml and have
another text editor open? How sweet would it be to have a tab like the todo
tab that would popup and allow for pasting of code snippets and to see what
history of pastes you have used and where...

Are you aware that IDEA already keeps a history of the clipboard?

Try copying something to the clipboard, then copying something else to the
clipboard, then press ControlShiftV (instead of Control+V) to paste. Is
that close enough to what you want?

You can configure the number of items it keeps in the clipboard history: go
to IDE Settings > Editor, then look for the "Maximum number of contents to
keep in clipboard" setting in the "Limits" group.

Personally I find that to be good enough that I never need to have a
separate text editor open for copying/pasting.

Another alternative might be the BSFConsole plugin. That gives you pretty
much exactly what you describe, with the additional benefit that you can
execute whatever you've pasted there if it's in a BSF-supported language.
I've never used it though, so I can't comment on how well it all works.

Hope that helps,
Vil.

I've never used it and I don't know if it works with Aurora, but this plugin may do what you want:

Sweet. That is exactly what I was looking for. I found version 2.0 on their
main website which seems to work with Aurora
