Hi Jordan,

I was hoping if I waited long enough the bug would fix itself..now we're halfway there! :) (Assuming only 2 L&F's)

Thanks for pointing that out.

Actually, I have always been using IDEA L&F, and I have always had the problem. I am on W2K though.

build 1035, IDEA L&F, Classic view for the IDE/project settings:

I have had much better success with the tabifier panel. I can now see the whole panel, all the buttons and make and save my changes.

I think it might have had something to do with the new IDE/project setting view.

Here are the things that I still notice:
- CPU usage is 100% while tabifier panel is up
- If I get out of IDE/project settings dialog with the last view open being tabifier, opening the IDE/project settings again bring up a gray dialog but as I mouse over, things start displaying themselves.
- If I get out of IDE/project settings dialog with the last view open being something other than tabifier, opening the IDE/project settings again works fine
- It does what I wanted it to do the most - put a space between empty ().

As I understand, I can use this in conjunction with reformatter and format all my code as per IDEA code style follwed by tabifier. Is this assumption correct?

thanks

Hi Vinay,

Thanks for the update. It's hard to keep up with the new releases these days!

You have two choices, depending on whether or not you install the "Reformat" plugin. (This is not the same thing as the "Reformat Code" command on the Tools menu.)

- without "Reformat", you have to manually do Reformat Code (Ctrl-ALt-L by default) and tabify (Ctrl-Shift-Alt-T).
- with "Reformat" plugin, doing a Ctrl-Alt-L performs both "Reformat Code" command and tabifier.

In other words, IDEA's command to reformat code doesn't automatically chain to tabifier; you need Timur's Reformat plugin, whose main purpose in life is to chain Reformat Code, Optimize Imports, Tabifier, and/or Rearranger actions in one keystroke.

Hi Dave,

Thanks for the clarification. Hopefully my observations about the IDE/project setting can help you zoom into the problem.

Now that I can see the plugin, thanks for a great plugin. Happy Holidays and Happy new year!!!

I uploaded version 4.6 which disables the Preview pane. The configuration panel no longer takes over the CPU. :)

Hi Dave,

I am not able to see the version 4.6 on the plugins home. Where is it?

thanks

Sorry -- I only uploaded it to the plugin manager area. Use IDEA's File...Settings...Plugin Manager to download it. I was short on time yesterday and didn't upload it to the wiki site.
