[Ann]: LogMonitorPlugin build on 666

http://www.intellij.org/twiki/bin/view/Main/LogMonitorPlugin

  • build on build 666

  • bugfixes

  • starts on startup.

-- Main.AikoM - 26 Oct 2002

Jaques,

in answer to your feature requests:

1) Have the same instance for multiple projects opened. Right now only
one can be active at one time. The other can't listen to the same port.
However beware because It seems that when the default project is loaded
IDEA has a different class path then my own projects (I get a different
logging output see below).

I don't see anything below.... :(
but like to know the nature of your problem.

2) Remember the viewer columns settings
We're currently making the whole plugin more configurable.. this is a
good suggestion and wil be taken into account.

3) All columns except comments should be right justified
same as above... it is annoying me to :)
just dont exactly know how to do this yet...

4) Have a plugin configuration option to turn monitoring on
automatically at start up time.
see above :) this release just starts on startup.. but gives you the
connection error when opening a project in a second frame.

It's still happening in build 666 (after correcting the log.xml)

Idea probably starts logging from 2 different classloaders.. ??
resulting in 2 appenders being started, both logging their piece of the
action...

In answer to your question about the right justification.
I ran some tests right aligning the category-column, only to find out an
annoying SwingUtities.layoutCompoundLabelImpl(...) bug.
Right aligning allways puts the three dots on the right until the string
fits the box (even a
setComponentOrientation(ComponentOrientation.RIGHT_TO_LEFT); doesn't
make a difference for JLabel :(

If anybody has a gracefull solution this.. I'd like to hear it.

Soon after this IDEA will freeze because log4jmonitor is waiting forever on
