Idea is getting big, any thoughts on modularizing it?
Have you ever considered modularizing IDEA where you get the framework and all of the basic Java coding features and then be able to plug in the other large pieces of functionality as modules (ie. much bigger then plugins)? I know external jars probably account for a lot of the size though.
Thoughts?

Is size really that big a deal? The size of the application compared to its on-disk caches is minimal and downloading the installation takes at most a minute. Seems like a wasted effort to me!
i disagree. i can download and install idea in less than 3 minutes, and as long as 95% of all games i install are bigger, i don't care about idea's size on my ssd/hdd
all other games? :)
You can consider yourself fortunate. Downloading 100MB takes here approx. a
3/4 hour.
