My default Live Templates doesn't load

Any ideas? I managed to grep the location of the default live template xmls in the installation directory, but I can't get them to load up in IDEA. So I can't even use the standard iter, itco, serr, etc... Restarting didn't help. I had to manually extract the xmls from the installation jar and put them in my <user>/config/templates to get IDEA to actually load them up. But once in a while, for some strange reason, IDEA deletes those default xmls and I'd have to extract and copy them again. Any ideas on how to resolve this? I already wrote a script to automatically extract and copy them. It's annoying to not have those default live templates.
