Since switching to IDEA (rom Eclipse), there's a feature that I've used a lot, or rather a feature that I'm very happy not to be using anymore: save file. Typically in java files, it's great not to have to hit ctrl-s a ton of times a day.
But when it comes to xml files, it's a bit more problematic. If I modify a pom.xml, and have several modifications to make, IDEA saves the file a few times before it's all done, and since it's the pom.xml, the IDE starts checking for new dependencies, etc. In that case, the auto save causes the IDE to slow down and make me less productive than if I had to hit ctrl-s myself.
Is there a way to exclude some file types from the auto save feature?
Thanks a lot,
