(9540) Find in Path updates indexes on every search

Why would my copy of IDEA go through the (lengthy) process of "Updating
index...Parsing files." when I do a Find in Path? It's particularly painful
because there's no way to cancel or "background" the indexing process at
this point.

Also, is there a way to specify multiple wildcards, i.e., search files
ending in .gs and .gsx (e.g., ".gs;.gsx")?
