Crash: HTML preview / Javascript debugging

I run 8.0 rc2 on Ubuntu 8.10 (java 6 update 10) and I can't use the HTML preview / Javascript debugging.
At first it downloaded additional files but right after that it crashed.

Is this crash known? Is there a workaround?

Here is what I got on the console window:

(process:6437): GLib-GObject-CRITICAL **: /build/buildd/glib2.0-2.18.2/gobject/gtype.c:2458: initialization assertion failed, use IA__g_type_init() prior to this function
