IDEA + plugins vs. Specialised Products

Hi there,

What's the difference between IDEA + appropriate plugin (i.e. PHP) vs PHPStorm. Same goes for RubyMine and PyCharm. Do I miss any functionality?
I dabble with Python/Ruby and PHP and would like to get IDEA + plugins for the whole deal, would I loose anything if I go that route?

Hello Grzegorz,

All functionality can be provided via corresponding plugins. Some workflow or UI may be different between IntelliJ IDEA and lightweight IDEs. Please check this answer http://stackoverflow.com/a/13829907/2000323 for details.
