Use New Tab Implementation Everywhere

Hello Matthew,

Any chance we can have the new tab implementation, from the 8.0
editor, used everywhere? The "native" tabs on OS X are especially bad
and I'd love to see them purged completely throughout the application.

The new tabs are not API-compatible with the standard JTabbedPane and do
not support all of its features, so it's far from easy to employ them everywhere.
But I think we'll be moving in that direction.
