BTW Do I need to clear any caches when installed latest EAP over prior version? I do delete all idea directories but do not clear jar, compiler caches etc in system dir. Could this be the problem?

In general no, because caches get rebuilt automatically if we change the format or the caches building algorithm, but it never hurts to try to clean them in case of problems. :)

M1 with all caches cleared does not exibit this problem. all seems to be
