Workaround for compiling every time

I am seen an assertion error in the log during a project make. This causes me to have to recompile the entire project EVERY time. I've seen references in other threads to a zero-byte file that indicates whether a previous compile succeeded. Is there a way I can manually delete this file so that a recompile isn't necessary everytime?

I am just running unit tests and they seem fine, so I'm fine with any risks this would cause.

This question was answered by Eugene Zhuravlev on the issue. Basically, if I delete the system/caches directory, the problem stops occurring. I'm still not sure what causes the problem, but after deleting the caches directory I can compile over and over without IDEA performing a full Make every time.
