IntelliJ 12 cannot start Apache TomEE with exploded web artifact

I created a very simple web app to play with Apache TomEE. This web app contains a simple servlet, annotated with the servlet 3.0 @WebServlet annotation. IntelliJ can deploy the packaged artifact of this web app to Apache TomEE, but for some unknown reason, it cannot deploy the exploded version. It hangs trying to deploy the app.

I'm running IntelliJ 12.0.4 and Apache TomEE 1.5.1 Plus edition.

Anyone else experienced such a problem?

Unable to reproduce.
Are you able to deploy the exploded artifact to the TomEE directly (without IDEA) ?
If able, please provide your project.
If it is not possible for you to provide the project, please do the following:

1) replace the <IDEA home>/bin/log.xml with the attached one, or add
the following lines at the end of the existing one:
  <category name="#com.intellij.javaee.oss.admin.jmx.JavaeeJmxAdminServerBase">
    <priority value="DEBUG"/> <appender-ref ref="CONSOLE-ALL"/>

  <category name="#com.intellij.javaee.oss.util.AbstractConnectorCommand">
    <priority value="DEBUG"/> <appender-ref ref="CONSOLE-ALL"/>

  <category name="#com.intellij.javaee.oss.admin.JavaeeAgentAdminServerBase">
    <priority value="DEBUG"/> <appender-ref ref="CONSOLE-ALL"/>

2) (re)start the IDEA
3) launch your TomEE Run configuration and wait until it finishes the startup
4) attach produced IDEA log (Help -> Reveal log in explorer)
5) attach complete textual content of the Output tab

I would appreciate if you created new for the issue.

Hi Michael,

The exploded artifact deployed just fine in Apache TomEE without IDEA. Which pointed me to look at the configured of my artifact in IntelliJ. I noticed that the configuration of the output directory was somehow wrong for the exploded artifact. After fixing it, the exploded artifact deployed just fine in IDEA.

Thanks for the pointer. Regards,
