The "Cannot undo" dialog has nothing to do with either the local history
or the size of the undo/redo queue. It means that the operaiton cannot be
undone while keeping the project in a consistent state because of changes
that happened to the code after the undo operation.

However, while at it (undo/redo) I have a problem with this
functionalitiy: Say, I do something stupid and then press Ctrl+Z (undo),
thus undo multiple times, however, say I undo too many steps, the usual
behavior would then be to just use "redo" to undo the undo, however,
redo will then just repeat the last undo command and e.g. delete further
lines.
So the question is really whether I can undo some undos, and if, how, or
whether this is a bug or whatever...

Messi

My point is that I cannot perform undo on the regular code editing action not talking about complicated structural replace etc. just typing and CTRLALTL the most. but I can go to the local history and find the changes.
Again, in my opinion the dialog saying "Are you sure you want to undo code formatting?" is not really user friendly and should be an option to disable it. If I don't like Undo then I should be able to Redo. Texpad can do this then Idea should be able as well :)

Exactly my point, this should really be high-priority as this bothers me
all the time (see my other post in this thread).
Since nobody replied, I wonder whether I should submit a JIRA request...
or maybe this doesn't work only under certain circumstances (though I
can't remember that it worked at any time). I also wonder whether this
bothers anybody else or are other users satisfied with the current
functionality?

Messi
