Screen flickering using 6111

Since updating to the new eap build, i have pretty severe screen flickering in the IDEA window.
The extreme case is when reading quick javadoc (Ctrl-Q), the window then redisplays on every mouse move, which is really bad.
But it also happens quite frequently in the normal editor (hovering the mouse cursor over the scrollbars for example)

Anybody noticed this too ?

Try updating your video drivers, this doesn't sound like IDEA's fault.

I just went back to 6103, and it works just fine.

So I don't think it's related to the video drivers themselves, but more to how java refreshes the display for example.
Has the jdk changed ? or swing configuration ?

I wouldn't be too sure. I've seen random moderate-to-severe flickering in pretty much every version both on Windows and Mac - probably since at least 5.0. It's rarely more than just an annoyance but it is an annoyance.

For me it seems to be a function of which windows I have open. At work, since I have a dual display, I usually have separate windows for Project, Run, Debug (when I'm debugging), Ant and Messages.

Mac OS X 10.4.8

Here's an example that I just ran into.

I had up windows for editor, project, ant and debug - I was debugging something. I hit F8 and suddenly the Debug and Editor window started alternating focus every half second or so.

I had to click on the Project window to stop the flickering.

A colleague of mine had severe flickering problems with a dual-screen setup
(WinXP), they went away with updated video drivers.

I want first to reassert that I do not have this "flickering" using 6103 on the same machine.

And second, i'm not sure flickering is the right word (i'm french), what happens is the screen both incompletely redraws, and both does it a lot of times.

And honestly it's more than an annoyance : I went back to 6103 because my eyes were hurting.
