Super slow Subversion

Hi there,

Subversion commits are extraordinarily slow on my copy of Demetra #5622 - it can take up to 6 minutes to commit a 3k file. This makes Subversion under IDEA almost unusable for me. I have tried using TortoiseSVN on the same file and the same SVN repository, but commits work reasonably quickly (less than 3 seconds), which would seem to point the finger towards IDEA.

Any ideas on how to solve this? Further details:
os: Windows XP x64
jdk: 1.5.0_07 (tried both 64 and 32 bit builds)
Subversion: using svn+ssh, authentication using a stored password (not a key file)

The problem seems to occur during the "Sending file delta" part - the "sending file" bit seems to work quickly (apart from the last file before the "sending delta" bit), as do the deletes. Note I also had this problem on build #5594 - I haven't tried SVN any others than those.

thanks,
Nick

I concur. My SVN setup also worx just fine with svn.exe,
but using the svn functionality inside IntelliJ is incredible slow.

I am using Idea 5.1..just saw an update was there.. I will tr that.

I am having the same problem. I have Windows 7 x64 and I am using version 2016.3.2. I might have to go back to Eclipse and that would suck because I just had my whole group move to IntelliJ.

I found turning off the "Use command line client" setting improved performance tremendously.

Settings -> Version Control -> Subversion
