It has been mentioned before:

Remove the idea60.key file form your .IntellijIdea60\config directory
(in your C:\Documents and Settings\]]> directory atleast on my
windows installation). IDEA seems to prefere this location for it's key
and doesn't pick up the bundled key if one is present here.

It's a matter of JetBrains starting to bundle a key with BETA releases
instead of relying on the user to manually enter an EAP key. The bundled
key is located at a different location than where the manually entered
one gets placed, and the manual entry location gets checked first. Thus
instead of picking up on the bundled key, it picks up your manually
entered EAP key, which has expired by now. Removing it causes the
software to check the location where the bundled key is. (Actually, I
suspect they read both keys but fail you if any one key for the given
version is expired, which might be considered a bug. I think this
because I've seen splashes that indicated the later expiration date
while the application was warning me my key was about to expire well in
advance of the stated date.)

An upgrade to 5622 will include it's own bundled key, and I expect the
same will be true for any remaining BETA releases, if any, but as I've
got no more insight into release procedure than you do (I'm just a
humble user), it's all guesswork on my part.
