Disable automatic artifacts creation in project

Hi, colleagues!
I'm wondering if there is opportunity to disable automatic artifact creation feature in IDEA project during each maven reimport.

I'm developing maven project in IDEA 11.1.1. After importing changes in maven poms IDEA automatically adds artifacts (war and exploded war, to be specific) in project 'Artifacts' section. The problem is IDEA has to validate dependencies in these artifacts and found numerous errors (100+) in these dependencies. So it consumes certain resources for doing this and often detracts me from the point when I open Project Settings dialog.

I'm not using the Artifacts feature (i build all I need using maven), and those automatically created artifacts (along with its errors) neither help nor harm my work too much, though it's not good when these artifacts appear again and again regardless of if I remove them or not.

I will greatly appreciate any assistance regarding this issue. Thanks.

Hello,

there is no option to disable automatic creation of artifacts. However I hope that problems with errors in the generated artifacts will be fixed in
the next IDEA 11.1.2 EAP build.

It would be really great to have an option to disable this feature.  I have multiple GWT projects that take a long time to build when I want to just re-build the project in IntelliJ.  I don't want to compile GWT artifacts until I am ready to deploy to server.  It is very annoying to have to go into project settings and remove artifacts after each time I modify pom.xml files.

Thanks!
