How to use IDE Talk

I've never used jabber before (I can hear jaw drops...), so I tried to set up
IDE Talk client but it always fails with SASL authentication failure - why?
What do I have to do to allow connections and how do I configure this?

Also, is there a server where most EAPers use?

IDEtalk is known to work with public servers, such as jabber.org or
talk.google.com. Regarding the server software, IDEtalk was tested with
WildFire (www.jivesoftware.org) and jabberd14 (www.jabberd.org).

We at JetBrains use WildFire, because it has convinient integration
with Windows NT domain.
