way to install EAP alongside production version of Idea?

What is the best way to install an EAP build such that it will not override or interfere with the currently installed, production version of Idea (10.5.2) that is installed on OSX 10.6.8?

I'm exploring the EAP in hopes that the memory leak I see in my Android projects under 10.5.2 have been resolved (work for a while, close all projects, click to GC, see Idea still taking up > 350Mb. I posted about this and uploaded large mem dumps at http://devnet.jetbrains.net/thread/312639 ).

Hello Larry,

EAP builds use different configs/caches folders. If you want you may backup ~/Library/Application Support/IntelliJIDEA10, ~/Library/Caches/IntelliJIDEA10, ~/Library/Preferences/IntelliJIDEA10 but it isn't required.

That's a smart way for EAP to automatically install separately!  And thanks for the extra info about backing up just in case--just what I wanted to know.
