How do you work effectively with the new search&replace UI.

Hi guys,

I was wondering if there is a good way to use the new search&replace UI, because when I work in any large file (a few thousand lines), every search operation starts with a very long delay after typing the first or first two letters, because IDEA wants to highlight all the matches of my partly typed search string.

I hope there is some way around this problem. Maybe there is some trick to disable this or I can set some llimit or maybe there is something else wrong with my setup. The only way around this I see atm is using the structural search (and replace) with scope to "Current File", but that seems not the way to go.

Any thoughts?
