Lost tomcat processes

Does anyone know if something can be done about the lost Tomcat processes (java.exe) that sometimes happen when you start Tomcat and then stop it quickly, or otherwise force stop it?

By the end of the day, I often have 3 or 4 java.exe tasks running the background that I have to kill by hand.
