NNTP access broken?

I use Mozilla Thunderbird to access the NNTP interface to these forums. Today I can't log in, Thunderbird says "Authentication error." I tried using the jbuser/jbpassword login as well as my ITN login, and neither works. Is this just my computer or did something change overnight?

Works for me. The thing that DID change recently was that the SSL certificate of the news
server expired and was renewed. But my Thunderbird picked that up correctly without any
problems. Are you using NNTP-over-SSL? You can check Tools -> Options -> Advanced ->
Certificates if there is a problem.

This has just happened in the last half hour or so (I'm seeing the same thing using Pan).

I was just seeing that too, but it appears to be ok now.

It's still broken for me. Sniffing packets shows Pan offering the username/password pair to the server and the authentication failing. If I change the configuration to say that authentication isn't required then it connects but seems to get duff article number info. If I telnet to the server then this group's last post appears to be the one-word post "Anyone?" by John to "Support for serverside javascript".

Is anyone seeing this thread via NNTP?

I had replied using NNTP previously, but now I am getting

And I had to resort to the forums. :(

Yes, sorry, it was obvious from your last post you'd used NNTP.

Glad it's not just me then :) I've had Pan get its knickers in a twist before but seems it's probably a server problem.

Maybe it happens every so often just to remind us NNTP beats the forums ;)

I can login fine via NNTP-over-SSL once I accepted the new certificate, but no new messages are showing up. I had to come to the website forum to see this thread and post.

When it first happened, I guess I lost the password.
Now I switched to SSL based on what I read here, but it still asks for a password. What is the username and password I should use? I forget what it originally was...
Thanks,
Amnon
