JetBrains: what we're busy with right now.

Though it seem to much easier to track with JIRA now here we are to please
Alain :)
1. Polishing perforce and (less actively yet) subversion integration to get
features we used to have in CVS integration like but not limited to annotate
and compare with head version.
2. There are many issues reported against newly born java/jspx/html/xhtml/xml/javascript
formatters so we have hard days fixing them all.
3. Favorites view aka Shelf. I expect first drop in a week or so.
4. We do rewrite debugger custom renderer (yes, UI too) completely. Doesn't
look like a masterpeice right now.
5. Some windows installer activity is on the way (EAP version will by default
install into new directory with build number inlcuded, uninstall will be
able to uninstall builds independently).
6. My belowed propogate parameters in change method signature refactoring
is released. Wow!
7. (Exceptions|bugfixes)*

Thanks a lot Maxim.

I'm sure I'm not the only EAP member to do the EAP-dance-of-joy.

Do you plan to fix http://www.jetbrains.net/jira/browse/IDEADEV-65
before Irida ships?

My compliments on your choice of wording ("doesn't look like a
masterpiece right now") :) I'll definitely use that at some future
time when reporting my progress to my boss :)

Danny

No investigation to this problem have been done yet but the problem itself
sounds like it must be done before product is shipped. So we definetely will
fix it if possible at all.

Hello Maxim,

Does the xml work include the planned 'schema metadata'?
This feature was #36908 in the old tracker and does not have a distinct JIRA
issue, it seems.

Shelf! Shelf! Shelf!

(and I'm also looking forward to the parameter propagation work. That could really rule.)

Indeed... although frequently I find myself propegating the initial
calls through method parameter to switch to passing into the constructor
and adding a field. Propegating through parameters can get out of hand
very quickly.

This looks great,

#1, #2 and #5 are things I am waiting for :)

I am still fantasizing about having JavaScript 'package' definition and
better JS OO support (www.bindows.net is something to look at on the
subject).

Anyway, thanks for sharing.

and (less actively yet) subversion integration

I guess you aren't short of work, but more activity in that area would be very welcome:
We are holding back our migration to subversion just because Idea has no decent support for it.
The last EAP was all in all so stable, if it also had usable subversion support we would probably already buy it - if it were available as release 4.6.

Yesterday evening I tried Subversion on a single module with build 3229 and it wasn't usable at all: After a single class move I ended up having the class both at old and new place, diff did not work at all, ...

Yes, I always like to see what is being worked on, so I know when progress
is being made on bugs that matter to me.

Thanks for the update. I'm not participating in this EAP, but it's good to see such excellent progress. Can't wait to try the finished release ... :)

I've finally broken that annoying habit of trying each new release of Eclipse. It was just a waste of half a day, because I always end up back with IDEA.

Keep up the good work.

That's true indeed. And what is even more important those responses are usually
very interesting and we have more topics to talk about apart bugs and their
fixes.
