"Commit project" with VSS

The "commit project" dialog for SourceSafe is seriously broken. It shows differences for files that aren't even under version control, for example local copies of files like "log4j.properties" that I create from a "log4j.properties.sample" that is under version control. This suggests that when I show changes, it's actually getting the differences from local history, not from the Repository. It should show these files as needing adding, but doesn't. It also shows differences for files that I checked in long ago using the Explorer, because check in is flakey at best.

And yes, I have "synchronise on frame activation" checked.

Is anyone else seeing this? If so, I'll file an issue.

Yes, VSS integration takes changes from local history without any data from
server. You can exclude such files.

Please submit request to use server data for commit change instead of local
history data because it's not a cheap change and has to be planned.

http://www.jetbrains.net/jira/browse/IDEA-567

This explains all sorts of problems I've been having with the integration. I currently wouldn't consider VSS sufficiently integrated to say that IDEA supports it, it's a real pain to work with as it is.
