I've just fired up Irida (3212) to try it out, and found that the startup
mechanism has changed from that used in IDEA 4.5.x (on Unix at least).
Is $/bin/idea.properties really the only place where I can
specify the location of my config, system and user plugins directories?
I have no problem with specifying their locations in a properties file
rather than by exporting environment variables before calling idea.sh but,
to maintain the flexibility that 4.5.x provides in this respect, it should
be possible to do so on a per-user rather than a per-installation basis.
Checking first for, say, $/.idea.properties would be an improvement
(although I'd prefer to be able to export an environment variable pointing
to the file, that idea.sh could pick up and pass to the VM).
Does anyone else have an opinion?
