Editing XML files

Hi there,
any one happy about opening and editing XML files in the latest EAP builds?
have to dread every single moment and have to re-think about it ended up using other external editors to edit them.
some of the exceptions points the finger towards other plugins, got rid of them and still have to face odd null pointers.
could you pleaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaase resolve them

kind regards,
parthi

Be patient, we're still early in the EAP cycle. Expect lots of bumps in the long road, and XML/J2EE is always the first thing to break in EAP's -

In the meanwhile, keep a copy of the latest release handy so you can revert to it when you really need to get the work done.

I'd say that Irida is having one of the smoothest EAP starts so far;the project file is still compatible with the released version, and hasn't changed at all between the EAP builds! You don't have to recreate your project after every build, this is a luxury :)

I understand that we are fairly stable when compared to the other EAP cycles,
i just didn't want to come here and go EAP BUILD 3117 unusable- just felt like yelling out so i did and expressed

apologies if i hurt anyone

Did not offend, you were right in trying to bring attention, 3117 has a few
issues which don't only reside in xml but j2ee also, and that's a normal
part of the process, the more we bring attention to those, the faster they
can fix them since they're show stoppers, and cause eapers to not be able to
use and test the builds for them.

It's a win win, no sweat.

To be fair, all versions of IDEA die horribly when you chuck a 500k xml file at them, ever since IDEA became xml-aware.

This should change to a better soon.

I already noticed that pasting a huge file (22000+ lines long) into Irida editor, works pretty nice, however, "analyzing" seems to never finish. Also, just for the fun, I tried to apply source formatting on it, but, that "killed" Irida.

Hi,

If you move the caret, typing or switch focus the analyzing process is
cancelled and restarted from the beginning

Busted,
All hell breaks loose now press ctrl+y and you are busted when editing an xml file, have to shut down and re-start.

Happens in various aspects of editing an xml file

odd as it may seem removing properties editor plugin allows idea to be fairly stable ( not blaming the plugin but that just my exp).
still not able to get that ctrl+q to show me any docs defined in custom created xml.
They show up nicely in ant build files(thanks for that).

Hi,

Please, post new fresh project with two files: xml and project and we
will fix it.
