Installing Irida breaks 4.5.3?

Hi.

I just tried Irida.
The plugins I use weren't working, so I went back to 4.5.3...
But now, it's broken!
The Edit, Search, View, Go To, Code, Analyse and Refactor menus are empty!
And also I noticed ctrl+w (select word at carret) doens't work anymore
either.

It's quite unusable...

I tried to reinstall it at the same place, and to reinstall it to
another place, to no avail.

I would try to delete my config and system folders, but I do not wish to
loose all my preferences!

Please help me fix it!

1. Please don't cross-post.
2. Don't install eap versions "on top of" stable version. Install in a
new directory.
2. Don't use the same system/config directories for eap and stable versions.
3. I would try completely removing both. Delete system/config folders
but keep a backup of config. Reinstall 4.5.3. Copy config back.

Didn't do that.

I chose "in the user home folder (recommended)".

Wow that worked.

Thanks.

Ok I typed too fast.
As soon as I open a file, the problem is back.

I guess I'll just redo all my preferences by hand :/
What a waste of time.

Did you choose the user directory for system/config on both 4.5.3 and
Irida? If so, the 2 versions were sharing system and config which is a
bad idea.

I always keep the mainstream version using the user home for system and
config and for EAPs I choose the IntelliJ directory, as that way I can
have the released version and any number of EAPs in mutually exclussive
states (and you can still import settings on installations, so there is
no redefinition of anything).

Hope this helps,

Yep.
It's true it's a bad idea. EAP installation should not allow that.

Will do that next time (if there's one - can you feel the bad mood ? ;)

Thanks
