Can't post with Opera

usually I'm using Opera 9.5. With the new forums it's not possible to write a new post. The edit area for the post's message is just a little small white area without any toolbar or edit features. Clicking on it does nothing.

The old forums were compatible with Opera.

It would be great if the forums work with Opera again.

Only the following browsers are supported currently:

  • Internet Explorer versions 6 and 7
  • Firefox version 2 and 3
  • Safari versions 2, 3, and 3.1

Sorry for the inconvenience.

What a pitty
A fallback to plain text input would have been great.

But thank you for letting me know. I like the support in the forums...

That is a bit wierd.
What are you doing with your forums to prevent it working with Opera that all the thousands of other forums aren't doing?

Don't neglect us Opera users!

Looks like this is the product involved, and they don't support Opera.

Annoying

You a right Ronny.

We are going to find out why Opera is not supported and whether there are ways to fix this.

Thanks,

Thanks for looking into this.

Opera is also my main browser and I would like to be able to use it to post on IntelliJ forums.

If it helps, it seems the problem is the rich text editor.
If there is a way for you to hack it and display a normal text area instead that would be great.

Then, unless you switch to the HTML editor and move the <p> tags around you end up with backward posts like this one
Pressing enter at the end of the line adds an extra line before the current one instead of after it!
I can post using Opera 10alpha, however, a weird thing happens when using the full text editor.

Using Opera 10.52 on Linux Mint 8

Interestingly, if I identify as Firefox or IE the rich text editor appears, but if I identify as Opera it doesn't.

I still get the same problem as above though
i.e. that when I press return, a new line appears before the current line instead of after and I have to fix it in the HTML view

It seems to be an Opera problem starting with 10.50 which I've also found
with other forums. Opera 10.10 does not have this problem.

It now seems to work with 10.70
And there isn't even the weird thing of pressing return enters a new line before instead of after!
