Access to favorites items

(New to IDEA, obviously...)

The only place I've found to access files and directories I've added to favorites is in the project window, by switching it to favorites view. There doesn't appear to be any one-step way to get there, unless it's already switched to favorites view.

Is there something I'm missing?

Thanks,

Dave

Dave,

If you are in you "favorite" class then Alt-F1|3 (Favorites) would activate Favorites View.

Thank you

Not sure I understand what you mean. From an editor window (CFML), pressing alt-F1 brings up Select Target, and item 3 (3 key) there is File Structure.

Before playing with favorites, I navigated around my (large) project mostly with the project view tool panel, which was in View As Project mode. I asked this question because I thought I'd want to leave things like that, and get to favorites some other way that didn't mess that up. For example, some other editors have a Favorites item in the File menu, often accessible with a keyboard shortcut, or in a toolbar. Am I right that IDEA doesn't have either of those?

Since working some with favorites, I'm starting to think that maybe I don't need to worry about leaving the project panel in full project mode, and can work mostly in favorites mode. If that turns out to be true, access to favorites some other way is less important.

Thanks for your help,

Dave

Hi Dave,

Not directly related to IDEA 'Favorites' feature but you may find this useful - IDEA editor supports bookmarks that provide very easy and quick way to navigate to the target line of file.

Thanks, I'm aware of bookmarks, though not using them a lot yet.

Between the two of your responses I'm good (:-).
