Slow compiling/building?

I commonly find that IDEA is very slow to compile - taking say 30 seconds to compile a few files.

I'm suspicious that it's to do with e.g. my virus checker, but haven't been able to track it down.

Has anyone else seen this?

Compiling several files should be rlatively fast. Obviously not 30 seconds. Please try to disable the virus checker. Does it help?
