Deploy exploded war build externally

Is it possible to have Idea 9.0.1 deploy an exploded war (in my case to JBoss 5.1) that was built by gradle such that I get all the debugging goodness of a war deployed as an Idea based artifact?  I currently maintain both an Idea build AND a gradle build which isn't optimal productivity wise.
