Pallada 2008 debugger questions

I'm new to IntelliJ's products and wanted to setup a Project to see how the IDE works. I'm running Pallada build 2008 on Mac OS 10.3.3.

It was fairly straightforward and I was easily able to set up a Java and Web Project. I did find I had to manually define all my TLD URI mappings using resources which was a bit of a pain. I also noticed that some of the newer DTD's were not supported.

I can work around all that but I have not been able to get debugging to work. Is it not supported in the 2008 build?

I've enabled JPDA remote debugging on my Tomcat instance and can connect to the open socket using Pallada. However, none of the breakpoints that I set in the java source are recognized. Also, simply the act setting breakpoints in jsp files causes the IDE to throw an exception.

Are breakpoints not supported in Pallada?

Thanks,

Justyna

I am using the default MacOS X 10.3.3 JDK:

-

java version "1.4.2_03"
Java(TM) 2 Runtime Environment, Standard Edition (build 1.4.2_03-117.1)
Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM (build 1.4.2-34, mixed mode)
-

The running Tomcat version that I connect to using JPDA is:

-

jakarta-tomcat-5.0.19

There were some severe problems with tomcat in 2008 so it may throw exceptions. Build 2012 will be much more stable.

Remote debugging of tomcat is also supported only after build 2012. You may try to run server locally from IDEA.

Protein pills delivery is always late... Engines are on and we're checking ignition, but we can't start without dumb pills. Launching will be delayed several days more.

Ok I have to answer that without cracking up now...

This is EAP Control to JetBrains Tom, you've really made me mad
and the users want to know where are the wears.
Now it's time to leave the capsule if you dare!

I've put my helmet on and you can commence count. Though I've past my project setup hurdle there is one more task I must surmount. I've got the debugging blues and there's nothing I can do except to wait for you.

Houston to JetBrains Tom, can you hear me JetBrains Tom?
