GWT Setup in IDEA 9

So I checked the GWT setup demo and it is still for IDEA 8.  I'm having a devil of a time trying to get my GWT project up and running.  It worked fine in 7 and 8 because it wasn't using the new GWT structure introduced in 1.6.  I've tried following the instructions on the GWT site for how to set up my project and haven't been able to bring it up successfully.  I could go into detail about the various issues I'm having, however I think it would be better if someone could either point me to a set of instructions on how to migrate from IDEA with GWT 1.5 to IDEA with GWT 2.0 or explain it here.

You need to update your project layout as described at http://code.google.com/webtoolkit/doc/1.6/ReleaseNotes_1_6.html#Upgrading (it refers to GWT 1.6
but project layout wasn't changed between GWT 1.6 and 2.0). After that specify path to GWT 2.0 Sdk in GWT facet settings and update project
libraries to use jars from GWT 2.0 installation.

Because I don't like wasting people's time I spent a fair amount of time trying to get this to work.  I followed the "Follow the instructions at this link" directions and it didn't help.  Either I'm making it more complicated than it needs to be or something is missing.  Your response didn't mention anything about creating an Artifact or Web facet.  Without creating those things it doesn't work at all the way I had it set up.  So do I need to do anything with artifacts or the web facet?  Your IDE said that my GWT module was broken until I created an artifact which required creating a web facet.  Usually your IDE is pretty easy to follow and I can get things set up rapidly, but it just isn't working out that way this time.

Here is my directory structure (names changed to protect the innocent)

Project
     - src directory
     - war directory
          - GWT compiled module directory
          - WEB-INF directory
               - classes directory (includes all my compiled class files plus some configuration files which are being placed there by IDEA, I tried putting them at the war level and couldn't do it)
               - lib directory
               - web.xml

With my current setup I'm getting a 404 error, which is better than last time, but still not working.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks
Jeremy
