How can I quickly create a new project using many existing modules?

Hi,
I have a project which contains about  20 modules.

Now I want to create a new project which contains a subset of those so that all modules which are of relevance for my current work are all in one place.

For 10 modules, I  have to click 10 times on "Add new module", navigate to the directory where the module file is, choose it and press ok. Then I have to add all those 10 module to the maven management sidebar which takes quite some time (I don't want to reimport the maven modules).

Is there a way to add many modules at once?

Is there a way to automatically add all maven managed modules to the maven sidebar?

Im using 8.1.3.

Thanks a lot!

Hi,

I have had the same dilemma. I have copied the project file and edited it directly. The project file references the modules, so I removed those references and it worked.
Can't say anything about Maven because I haven's used that.

just create a pom for your "workspace", using pom packaging, and reference all the modules you in the modules section.

Then add New project on this new pom, it will also add all sub modules

Hi,
this does only work if all modules are in the same directory, doesn't it?

In my case module can be anywhere on disk.
