Why does tomcat 5.5.27 not shutdown completely?

Hi,

I'm using Idea 8.1.3 and tomcat-5.5.27 on Windows XP Pro SP3. I start tomcat in Idea and press the red square button (Ctrl+F2) to shudown tomcat. When I try to close the Run window with the red X button, there's an dialog asking: Disconnect from the process tomcat-5.5?, a checkbox "Terminate the process after disconnect" and 2 buttons for Disconnect and Cancel. Why is that? Did I do anything wrong?

Please help. Thank you.

It's the known problem (see http://jetbrains.net/jira/browse/IDEADEV-12812). When you press 'Stop' button IDEA just run "catalina.bat stop" command
and if the tomcat process is not terminated properly after that IDEA will show the mentioned dialog. Some solution for such problems was suggested in
http://jetbrains.net/jira/browse/IDEADEV-34234 and I think we will implement something like that in IDEA 9.
