Unable to use new settings panel

Hi,

currently (build 1071; observing in build newer than 996) I'm not able to do
any settings using the new settings panel: the panel is initially 3 screens
high (without being any screens there :(), no scrollbars, no buttons
(apply, ...). The only way is to close the window, using the decoration
buttons at the top, but then all changes are lost.

I'm using SuSE linux 8.2 (KDE 3.1.4) on a Intel P4 with the recomended JRE
and two monitors placed side-by-side.

When resizing the windows, no scrollbars appear.

Any ideas???

A co-worker of mine had the same issues. When he upgraded to 1080+ it seems to have gone away
