latest OSX java update causes jboss problems in idea

did the OSX software update to include the new java patch.

now when i launch jboss from within idea (for debugging or just running).. the CPU is pegged with 100% on the spawned java process, and my deployed J2EE application never launches. this is defintely due to the OSX patch. anyone seen this behavior or can suggest a fix? if i run jboss from the terminal it launches fine and the app runs. i have tried using the OSX java preferences control panel to switch VM versions that idea uses but i get the same problem. using the latest 8.1.3 idea build.

thanks
