WebModules, No deployment config?

With web modules, I don't see the settings to setup the libs I want to
copy over, and the utility java modules I need to copy over settings
anymore. Am I missing something? Is there a trick that I haven't found
yet?

The only thing I saw is in the order tab. There's a checkbox 'Copy on make' and a textfield for a path for web modules. But since I wasn't able to set up a web module (too many exceptions...) I don't know if that's what you're looking for.

HA! yes indeed, but OMG this is HORRIBLE! Why is that in the ORDER
tab????? YIKES!

I have to admit that I don't have the slightest clue about how this whole web module thing is meant to work. I have lots of pathes to configure (no idea which path is meant to point where), lots of exceptions, and an error message saying that I have no EntityBean class in my project, huh????? (Of course I don't have an EntityBean class. I created a web module, not a EJB module. And I just want to run a simple servlet in plain old tomcat...)

As you mentioned in another post: the web module thing is going in the right direction. But it's still far away from being usable...

Yeah I'm still trying to see if I can get it to work under 996. Not
looking very good so far.... more soon... having other problems to deal
with in IDEA first :) Makes me wonder why we try :)

Yep, I'm quite happy I didn't drop my 977 installation...

Web module support in 996 works quite good for me. Only one exception on
one of my modules during creation. The setup is really good now but
there are two issues I found:

1) JSPs don't really work (i.e. error checking, taglibs, etc.) as long
as I do not additionally setup the old web module support.

2) Although I specified that I want a directory and WAR deployment and
configured everything (even the stuff in the order tab), nothing is
created (only sources are compiled). BTW, what are the paths in the
order tab supposed to be set to? "WEB-INF/lib" for example?

Oh, just discovered that the paths for exploded or war deployment are
not saved but always lost after closing the modules configuration...

I could not get past setting up the module. Exception after exception.
So I dropped back to 963 (the last version I have been able to run
webapps with tomcat) and found that 996 broke the project. (Digging into
the iws file showed that the property to include the project path got
set to false.)

Can you post a small sample project? I tried several ways to set up a project but neither worked. I just got tons of exceptions and error messages and it seems that I'm far away from a working setup.

Of a working 996 webmodule? I couldn't do that. 963 had the old-style
stup of webapps (is that the sample you want?).

No, I currently use build 977 which is working pretty good.

My question was for Michael who said he got things working with 996.

Well, let's put it this way: at home I created a web module like I said with no problems except for the mentioned ones. At work I tried with our project and failed with strange behaviour of the IDE. Then I started a sample project and failed again with one or two exceptions I did not have at home. Seems I have been lucky when I first tried the web modules. Maybe IDEA (and the IML file) gets confused once you make a "wrong" click which it won't recover from. So I won't be able to post a small sample at the moment, but I will try again later. :)

Yeah, no luck here either. it's a real bummer, but I can see it's
better... I still have a problem with output directories being in the
order tab, maybe the name should be changed or something, but I
definitely didn't look there!

Webmodules configuration stuff is not functional in 996 build, sorry for that.

Alexey, is there any chance another build can be spit out with the
functionality working by the end of the week, or is it so much in a
state of flux that it's going to take longer?

Thanks, and keep up the good progress.
