Yes, we know. We'll make JDK configuration more convenient

Could you tell me where to find it, too? Thanks.

Never mind :) It's on File/Configure Project/Libraries/Target JDK/.../(+) plus sign

Oh well...

To be absolutely truthful the new "Configure project" UI is completely horrid totally unlike IDEA's otherwise intuitive design. Setting the JDK, adding libraries and modules - everything is way too tough.

I would much rather have the project settings like they were in the 3.x versions.

Another very irritating thing about the project settings is that I cannot use my IDEA 3.0.5 on the same machine Aurora 977. Everytime I run 977 it screws up my modules (set of libraries) in 3.X therefore eventhough I would like to keep testing 977 I cant.

Apart form that I am really looking forward to the new release.

Sure you can. Just install 977 (or any other EAP build) in it's own
directory (do not use your home directory for config and system, use the
install directory), create a separate project for the EAP build and you
should be OK.

I must say I find the new design absolutely horrible! It is not inline with the rest of the GUI and is barely visible on my screen.

I hope this won't be the new design of all the config dialogs in IDEA. I would be absolutely horrified!

Sorry for the flames :)

The Configure Project UI is already being bashed on another thread[/url], folks. Keep comments about this dialog there ^^

Well, we have already changed the design in order for it to "fit" better to the rest of the application.
Apart from "the design is different" complain (agreed, the design is different), could you provide comments of what you find
"horrible"?

Personally I find it both too 'HTML-like' and too 'skinned'.

It seems there is a trend in the IT world towards more and more HTMLish
and/or skinned interfaces. I find this trend a disturbing one, since
what is possible with a DHTML/Javascript look&feel is a very inferior
subset of what is possible with a full-blown GUI. Similarly, skinned
applications such as all the various media players and other 'trendy'
apps are annoying because they require a cognitive shift when swapping
between them and other 'boring' applications that use the standard GUI
widgets as god intended.

My vote is for you to leave it as a 'dull' dialog using relatively
standard controls & colours, I think it's far less intrusive that way. :)

Well, please wait for the naxt pubilc build. The UI is less HTML-ish there.
