How do you guys make files writable?

JetBrains,

I see that in IntelliJ IDEA, you've implemented the ability to modify a file's read only/writable status. In my research, it looks like the JVM doesn't allow this. So how do you guys do it?

idea/bin contains some dlls ...

"attrib -r". A similar command exist under Unix. :)
