I guess, this is a good estimate, especially because of the bugs that prevent simplest tasks in IDEA.
I'd say that the final version won't be available before next year... Build 963: On the fly parsing generates weird errors. Sometimes it doesn't find class members and XML configuration files usually fail to regocnize build properties.
The bitchslap effect. Easiest way to get exceptions is when you paste fairly large amounts of code which as a result of paste is not quite correct. Wham.. Bitchslap exception!. Usually reopening the file helps here.
CVS 'create missing and remove empty' produces nice 'hysteresis' effect where every second time the folder disappears and appears...
+ numerous smaller errors.. (There's even work in progress section in the code style tabs, which shouldn't be a work in progress if release is due this month...)
Next year!
P.S. Even though it's quite buggy in it's current state it's still the best editor out there...
But they aren't real close to feature complete, are they? The UI Designer still feels like it has a ways to go, and the modules thing is still supposed to get a whole new ui. Plus additional J2EE stuff.

haha you've seen that too? I believe Olyesa fixed this in 694, of course they let 693 out before we could get some of these real nasty ones.
I'd have to agree with assessment, the Module UI is not in there yet, they're working on it feverishly I'm sure, but the fact still remains that when they put that sucker out, more crap is gonna break, more complaints about how it works are going to break out, and God only knows what else will get busted in the process.
Further the J2EE stuff doesn't even look close to being done, and JSP keeps breaking constantly and is not quite stable yet.
These guys didn't even hit code freeze yet... Yeah February is more like a good date.

I will show message box explaining why CVS restores the directory and what should you do in order to delete the directory locally (in fact you cannot delete some directory from server with a cvs client). Otherwise there will be problems with using (at least update and commit) external cvs clients -- Best regards, Olesya Smirnova JetBrains, Inc / IntelliJ Software http://www.intellij.com "Develop with pleasure!"

In a seperate thread someone from jetbrains mentioned they would like to release it in November.
Remember to a developer "releasing in november" means November 45th ;)
I guess, this is a good estimate, especially because of the bugs that

i think we will all be amazed at how fast they can fix bugs once all the features are complete. We have seen them fix hundreds per day in the past
But they aren't real close to feature complete, are they? The UI Designer still feels like it has a ways to go, and the modules thing is still supposed to get a whole new ui. Plus additional J2EE stuff.
