Why don't make idea to recognize custom task ?

It seems that you need to add your jar file to Additional Classpath in
build file properties.

I've yet added the NetComponents.jar file (the build file is always execute correctly)

...but Idea (Aurora version) continue to mark custom task (ftp, telnet etc...) as errors.

Thanks in advance.

Addition to Igor's message: I had to restart idea for the changes to get
picked up (for the ftp task).

The problem remain even if I restart idea...
The problem is not ONLY for a particular jar, but for all jar (for example for catalina deploy, list, undeploy etc...)

This problem was present even in idea3.0.x

Best regards.

Just a few thoughts: Did you use the correct NetComponents.jar file? I
believe that there are two versions of that file. The one referenced
from the Ant documentation and an updated version from the Jakarta web
site. The file that worked for #929 for me was named
"commons-net-1.0.0.jar".

Make sure that you copy the JAR file into into the right lib folder if
you have several parallel IDEA installations.

Add the jar file to the classpath (in the properties of the build.xml
file).

Restart IDEA.

You said that the build works correctly? That never worked for me when
there was a configuration error in my setup. Maybe your problem hides
somewhere else.

Hope that helps,

I don't want to copy the ant additional task jar in idea/lib...
It seems to me a "temporary solution" to solve this problem.

I only have added the jar in build file properties the jar (from inside the ide)

Why must be necessary to copy jar file in idea/lib & restart ?

The ftp-task is already included in the optional.jar but requires some
classes to function properly (commons-net-1.0.0.jar). If you add that
jar to the class path in the properties of build.xml your target might
execute properly but IDEA. But that does not tell IDEA to use that jar
for the syntax highlighting and error checking.

So that it picks up the new jar in idea/lib and that e.g. the ftp task
is not highlighted as an error.

In the first place thanks for helping me to solve this 'little problem'...

I know that Idea need the jar in idea/lib to use that jar
for the syntax highlighting and error checking (for ant build custom task) but I was only saying that this behavior is not the best possible !

I've seen the same issue for proGuard.jar. Ant takes it, but IDEA paints
it red. And I've placed it into idea/lib. So the classpath can't be
the solution. Addtional: any reference to the {$basedir} will be marked
as error.

Cheers.

Is this a typo in your posting? it is $

No, it worked in 3.0, but you had to reload the project (you can also of course restart the whole idea). Still a bug as far as i'm concerned...but it did work. Most likely you do not have the classes in the correct places, or your build file is incorrect. I had some trouble initially as well...but once idea could find the classes, and you reloaded your project, it worked. Note: I haven't actually tried it in Aurora yet.

Yes, of course, becuae ANT doesn't complain it.
