I would love to have more control specifying keywords and other features of
different file types.
As an example, it'd be nice to have Win2K batch files supported with full
color coding. Being able to color using regular expressions would really
help. Variables appear between percent signs (such as "%MY_VALUE%"), so
it'd be nice to have IDEA color anything between percent signs (inclusive)
one way, separate from other keywords. For shell scripts, variables start
with a dollar sign ($MY_VALUE), and it'd be nice to mark them as well. It'd
certainly allow one to easily visually detect missing percent or dollar
Additionally, it'd be nice to specify more than one line comment, as in
Visual Basic, where both "REM" and a single quote are line comments.
Different languages use different bracing as well. Pascal and similar
langauges use "Begin/End" to demark blocks, and Win2K Batch files use
parentheses instead of braces. Being able to specify this would allow the
block marking (in the margin, showing the current block) to work correctly
even in custom file types.
