Using DotTrace with sharepoint

Hello all,

I am very new to web programming, but I have been asked to profile a particular sharepoint application, at least the .NET part of it. A button click on a web page leads to some processing in a .NET dll, and this processing is the part I need to profile. I have used DotTrace to profile normal WinForms applications, but I have no idea how to do this with a web page. Another complication is that I don't want to be shutting down/starting up the IIS service all the time in order to do the profiling. Using normal Visual Studio, I can attach to the web server process and step through the .NET code running, but would like to know how I can profile this code using DotTrace.

I have the feeling there is a simple solution to this, but I have absolutely no idea how to do it. Help?

Hello mike,

Please post your question to the dotTrace forum rather than the IntelliJ
IDEA forum.
