Weird UI problem: MouseClick stopped working in IDE, had to reboot machine

Hi,
The mouseclick stopped working in the IDE, not from a USB mouse, or the builtin trackpad, trackball, or pointing device (I have a Thinkpad which has all the bells and whistles).

It's weird. Any one of the pointing devices does move the cursor properly. But click does not work. The mice/pointingd devices work properly in all other applications (e..g firefox, word, ..)

I closed and re-started Intellij a couple of times . I have version 7.0.3

I had to re- boot to clear the problem. That is painful (15+ minutes), and would like to avoid.

Well, you don't say anything about your hardware or OS or JVM, but I suppose it's no more likely that those facts are relevant than it is that a frozen mouse has anything whatsoever to do with IDEA or any other application you're running. Most likely, your OS (or a driver) crashed or your hardware is being flakey.

Necro-threading, but I have this problem now in RubyMine 2016.1.1, Mac OS X 10.11.5. Rebooting does not solve it. Had it a couple weeks ago after a reboot from an Adobe update and it spontaneously went away after a bunch of ineffectual troubleshooting and a couple hours wait. It's now back again after a Mac OS X update reboot. The mouse works everywhere outside of RubyMine, and can click the close/minimize/resize buttons in the window bar of RubyMine, but is not recognized within RubyMine windows, whether it is the project picker, inside a project, or the settings window. Even the "Copy to Clipboard" link in the About RubyMine modal window.I don't think it is a mouse driver issue, since the mouse is working elsewhere.

I can only navigate within RubyMine by keyboard. Trouble ticket is in, this time with logs and thread dumps.

Was a dupe. I don't see a way to remove this comment.

Changing mice to a cheap USB mouse fixed the problem. Apparently my Evoluent mouse has a specific driver that has an issue with the combination of Mac OS 10.11.4+ and Java 1.8 generated windows (Also saw issue on a fresh download of IntelliJ at the first window about license or trial).

Having this issue with Fedora 23 and 25. Most of the time when I close out RubyMine (2016 versions and even now the Lastest EAP) I will regain full mouse capabilities. Else I would have to close all application windows and then mouse is back. Using a standard USB mouse with Dell Latitude E5470 and Docking Station.

Any solutions?
